TWITTER NETS $35 MILLION IN ADDITIONAL FUNDING
The online social messaging phenomenon Twitter has again managed to raise funding with reports claiming the company has pulled in an additional €35 in its third round of funding. A number of parties are reported to have invested, including Benchmark, IVP, Union Square and Spark Capital. This despite any clear cut business model having been proposed by the company.

According to Compete Twitter had a growth rate of 752% and a total of 4.43 million unique users as of December 2008. The social networking "tool" has grown at an extraordinary rate, considering a year ago Twitter had a mere 500,000 "twitterers".
